Step out of your
Comfort Zone!

As the founder of the international artist-in-residence program LIA – Leipzig International Art Programme, I have been connecting international artists and cultural practitioners around the globe since 2007. As a cultural lecturer, curator, and writer, I’ve always listened with curiosity. How do people perceive us and German culture when they share time and space with us? These inspiring shifts in perspective have continuously motivated me, driving personal growth, exchange, and the desire to make a meaningful difference.

Working with people has always been my greatest incentive. It pushes me beyond my – and sometimes their – comfort zone. Collaboration can be deeply empowering: it sparks creativity, encourages improvisation, and brings joy through the exchange of laughter, ideas, and even controversy, something we need now more than ever.

The residency I founded has always served as an incubator for this kind of interdisciplinary thinking. I also believe that true creative freedom requires a safe and supportive environment – this is the foundation of all creation. Acting as a mediator to provide these secure grounds has been a central focus of my work. I accompany artists through their creative journeys, offer space to grow, and let go when it is time for them to take flight.
